moderation lists on bluesky fundamentally have the problem that the person maintaining them makes personal and subjective choices. this means that, at best, there might be false positives or somewhat controversial inclusions and at worst, the person maintaining the list is a malicious actor intending the exact opposite of the stated goal. (for instance, there have been blocklists that, on the surface, vowed to include nazis and right-wingers but snuck in prominent antifascists to decrease their reach among people that would have otherwise agreed with them)
no. i can't fundamentally change how mod lists work and if you subscribe to mine you're subjecting yourself to the same exact risks as when you subscribe to any other blocklist. worse, you probably don't know who i am. i am writing all this to try to convince you i'm not a malicious actor. i'm trying to be somewhat transparent about who i am, who i will block and why i'm doing this, as well as offering reasoning for my decisions as i go so that you can at any point make the informed decision to agree or disagree with me. if i make a choice you disagree with, you can always reach out to me and i'll try to make more controversial choices in private instead of on this list.
i've written a more long-form introduction to me at my personal website, but for this specific purpose i would also like to clarify that i am trans, an antifascist and a communist. the latter might irk you a little, and i get it, but i do promise to reserve this list for extreme and clear-cut cases of bigotry, harassment and trolling. i'm european so my perspective on what that means might differ a little from yours if you're not, but i do specifically want to invite dialogue about these cases if they arise
i think this one's pretty self-evident, but i don't think the aforementioned types of people contribute to a healthy discourse or a healthy social media platform and it's best to exclude them from all public life.
this list is primarily intended to filter out nazis, TERFs, other trans-/homophobes, misogynists, conservatives and other bigots and hateful people.
